HI-TEC Awards
HI-TEC is committeed to support and recognize community college faculty, industry leaders, and outstanding programs that make significant contributions to the education and training of today's technology workforce. HI-TEC has announced three awards for 2010 which will be presented at the HI-TEC Conference Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
The HI-TEC Educator of the Year Award recognizes a community college educator for outstanding contributions to advanced technology education. The 2010 recipient is Mike Mann of Central Alabama Community College. (View Press Release)
The HI-TEC Industry Recognition Award recognizes key industry personnel for outstanding contributions to the promotion of technology education. The 2010 recipient is Caren L. Caton of Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America. (View Press Release)
The HI-TEC Innovative Program Award is designed to recognize a team of advanced technology education professionals that has designed and implemented a significant innovation, which has led to a positive impact on student enrollment, retention, and/or advanced technology education. This year's recipient is Florida Advanced Technological Education (FLATE) Center of Excellence. Accepting the award will be Dr. Marilyn Barger, FLATE Director, Bradley Jenkins of St. Petersburg College, and Dr. Richard Gilbert of the College of Engineering at the University of South Florida.
