Technology Education and Training are significant drivers in the strength of an economy. Often innovative or creative educational methodologies, partnerships with industry and visionary leadership of educators, administrators and industry can lead to significant moves forward. HI-TEC would like to recognize outstanding educators and industry members who make a significant contribution to the training and education of today's technology workforce. We are pleased to announce the following three categories: the Educator-of-the-Year Award, the Industry Recognition Award, and the Innovative Program Award.

Awards:

  • Educator-of-the-Year Award
    This award represents HI-TEC's commitment to recognize community college faculty who make significant contributions to the education and training of today's technology workforce. Nominees for the award must have had a demonstrated broader impact on technology education on both a local and national level. The Educator-of-the-Year Award recognizes a community college educator for outstanding contributions to advanced technological education.
  • Industry Recognition Award
    This award represents HI-TEC's commitment to recognize industry colleagues who make significant contributions to the education and training of today's technology workforce. Nominees for the award must have had a demonstrated broader impact on technology education on both a local and national level. The Industry Recognition Award recognizes key industry personnel for outstanding contributions to promote advanced technological education.
  • Innovative Program Award
    This award represents HI-TEC's commitment to recognize innovation in advanced technology education. The Innovative Program Award is designed to recognize a team of advanced technology education professionals that has designed and implemented a significant innovation, which has led to a positive impact on student enrollment, retention, and/or advanced technological education.


Guidelines for Submittal and Eligibility:

  • Nominations can only be submitted by NSF ATE Centers or Projects and/or their partners, and HI-TEC sponsors.
  • A nominator may submit no more than one award application for each award category.
  • Nominees must indicate how the nominee is affiliated with an NSF ATE Center/Project or HI-TEC sponsors.

Recipients:

Please note that if selected as an award recipient, this person will be required to attend the Awards Luncheon that will be held at HI-TEC on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at The Grand America Hotel, Salt Lake City, Utah. HI-TEC will provide the airfare, registration, and two nights lodging for each winner in addition to their prestigious award recognition. If selected, winners will receive additional instructions.
